Mary Baldwin's men's soccer team had one second-half rally in Saturday's game at NC Wesleyan, but couldn't find another as the Fighting Squirrels (1-15, 1-6 USA South) lost to the Battling Bishops (7-6-3, 5-1-1 USA South), 4-1, in a season-ending game at Rocky Mount, NC.

The teams battled to a scoreless draw in the first 45 minutes despite NCW outshooting the visitors by an 11-1 margin.

The hosts finally put the first goal on the board just after halftime by Bautista Melillo.  Bastien Dechamps contributed the first of his three assists on the play.

MBU found the equalizer in the 56th minute when sophomore Yefferson Hernandez battled through the NCW defense and scored his third goal of the season, sixth of his career.

NC Wesleyan's Justo Esponda-Neuss put the hosts on top with two goals in a 12-minute span, both assisted by Dechamps, to give the Battling Bishops the win.
