Preston Bentley put on another strong performance in goal, but visiting Methodist countered with a strong attack and a shutdown defense in a 3-0 Monarchs victory over the Fighting Squirrels in USA South Conference men's soccer action Saturday at SMA Worth Field.
Bentley, who also got a little help from the goalpost and crossbar, was credited with six saves on 14 attempts by Methodist, including 11 that were on goal.
The Monarchs scored one goal early in the first half, then added two in the second frame for the 3-0 victory. Hudson Zeisman had two assists for the winners.
MBU has a week to rest and hopefully get some players back from the injured list before returning to action in Brevard, N.C., with a USA South Conference clash against the Tornados on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
