Methodist's Lola Campbell scored her second goal of the season in the 86th minute Saturday, breaking a scoreless tie and sending the second Monarchs (6-6, 5-2 USA South) to a 1-0 USA South women's soccer victory over Mary Baldwin.

The Fighting Squirrels still own seventh place in the conference standings despite the setback.  MBU (3-8-2, 2-5 USA South) played a balanced game against the hosts, getting six shots (three on goal) compared to 10 shots for Methodist (four on goal).  Harmony Crawford and Stori Maybank each had two shots while keeper Maddy Vinson was credited with three saves for the visitors.

MBU steps out of conference play Tuesday (10/22) when Marymount (Va.) visits SMA Worth Field for a 4 p.m. contest.  The Fighting Squirrels will then continue their quest for one of the eight USA South playoff berths Saturday when ninth-place Pfeiffer visits Staunton Saturday (10/26).
