Alexis Edmonds contributed four kills and two digs and
Savannah Figueroa chipped in nine digs in Mary Baldwin's 3-0 loss to USA South Conference volleyball rival North Carolina Wesleyan on senior night at MBU.
The Battling Bishops (5-21, 4-14 USA South) won in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-18, although the Fighting Squirrels led most of the second set before the visitors scored nine of the last 10 points to gain the victory.
Sophomores Brooklyn Prince and
Sabrina Birts led the hosts with seven and six kills, respectively. Junior
Emily Penny dished out nine assists and shared team-high honors with Rios-Rolon with three service aces. Freshman
Alexa Ammerman recorded a team-leading 17 digs and added two kills.
The Fighting Squirrels (2-23, 0-17 USA South) close out the 2024 campaign with a tri-match at USA South rival Salem Saturday (11/9), beginning at noon. Both MBU and Salem will also challenge ODAC representative Roanoke in the tri-match.
