Vernon Fraley registered his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 boards, but the Mary Baldwin men's basketball had an off shooting night in a 73-63 setback vs. Greensboro Wednesday.
After pre-game ceremonies for MBU Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night and the presentation of the 2023-24 USA South Regular-Season Championship Trophy, the Fighting Squirrels stayed close until early in the second half, when the Pride began to pull away.
Matthew Brown had 26 points and 12 rebounds for the visitors, who shot 48% from the field on the way to the win. MBU, meanwhile, drained just 12 of 31 shots in the second half (38.7%), including 4-for-17 (23.5%) from long range.

MBU closes out the 2023-24 regular season Saturday (2/17) against North Carolina Wesleyan in the second half of a USA South doubleheader against the Battling Bishops. Following the annual Senior Day celebration, the men's game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
