Box Score Senior Sara Gruntowicz and sophomore Harmony Crawford each scored unassisted goals late in the second half in Mary Baldwin's 5-2 season-open women's soccer setback vs. Ferrum.

Ferrum's Bre Bitz posted a natural hat trick in the first 52 minutes of the game for a 3-0 Panthers lead.  Ashlynn Mitchem added a pair of goals within a minute midway through the second half for the visitors.

The Fighting Squirrels trailed 5-0 when Gruntowicz found the back of the net for the 10th time in her career for the hosts in the 69th minute.  In the final minute, Crawford scored her second career goal to finish the scoring.

Senior Maddie Vinson was credited with five saves, including several diving stops, on 14 Ferrum shots.

MBU returns to action Sunday with a non-conference battle at Wilson College, beginning at 2 p.m.
