Mary Baldwin Women's Soccer Posts Second-Straight 2-2 Draw, This Time at Eastern Mennonite

For the second-straight match, the Mary Baldwin women's soccer team finished 90 minutes with a 2-2 draw.  Last Friday, it was at home against Averett.  Wednesday, it was at Eastern Mennonite.  MBU is now 1-3-2 for the 2024 campaign.

The Fighting Squirrels jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first half on goals by sophomore Harmony Crawford and Stori Maybank

Crawford found the back of the net for the second-straight game and third time of the year (fourth of her career), with classmate Alexis Mansfield dishing out the assist in the 17th minute of the match.

Five minutes later, Maybank took a feed from Sara Gruntowitz and knocked it home for a 2-0 lead.  It was Maybank's first career tally.

EMU cut the lead in half in the 25th minute on the first goal of the match by Angel Hines, but the Fighting Squirrels took a 2-1 lead to the locker room at the midgame break.  With less than two minutes left in the match, Hines found the back of the net for the second time in the match to even the score.

The Royals outshot the visitors by a 15-10 margin, but the attempts on goal was much closer, with the hosts holding a 6-5 advantage.  MBU keeper Maddy Vinson was credited with three stops.
