Alexis Edmonds registered team highs of six kills, a .600 hitting percentage and four block assists in Mary Baldwin's 3-0 USA South Conference volleyball loss to visiting Southern Virginia Tuesday.
The Knights improved to 5-9 overall, 2-1 in conference play by downing the Fighting Squirrels (2-10, 0-3 USA South) by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 29-16.
Joining Edmonds at the net were freshman
Kennedy Mills and sophomore Brooklyn Prince, each with five kills. Senior Sol Rios-Rolon (12) and junior
Emily Penny (eight) combined for 20 of the team's 21 assists. Sophomore
Sabrina Birts also had a well-rounded match with three kills, a service ace, three block assists and two digs.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action at the PAC Saturday with a conference match against Salem College, beginning at 2 p.m.
