The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels women's basketball team made its first home appearance since February 2024 on Wednesday night, falling to Randolph College 72–58.
The Wildcats got off to a hot start, scoring 20 points in the first quarter while shooting 43 percent from the field. Mary Baldwin fought back in the second quarter, putting up 16 points on 46 percent shooting.

Davyne Johnson led the Fighting Squirrels with 15 points, including nine from beyond the arc. Freshman
Shyla Williams was perfect from the field on her way to 10 points, and freshman
Lanie Bethel also added 10 points, sinking two 3-pointers.
In the second half, Mary Baldwin's defense tightened up, holding Randolph to 5-of-15 shooting in the third quarter. However, Randolph's dominance on the boards proved decisive, as the Wildcats outrebounded the Fighting Squirrels by 12.
Mary Baldwin will be back on the road Friday, Nov. 21, to take on the Meredith Angels at 6 p.m.
