Mary Baldwin's men's basketball team closed out the Charlie Cobb Classic with a 57–55 win over Colorado College on Sunday.
Senior
Raymond Benton delivered his best performance of the season, scoring 12 points and finishing one rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards.
The first half was defined by defense, as the Fighting Squirrels held Colorado College under 20 points and forced 10 turnovers. Sophomore

Tucker Shifflet each came up with two steals.
Offensively, Mary Baldwin attacked the Tigers inside, drawing early foul trouble. Sophomore
Rony Hogarth capitalized at the line, hitting six of his eight free throws in the half.
Hogarth continued to produce in the paint after halftime, finishing with a team-high 14 points. Mary Baldwin also leaned on its bench, which outscored Colorado College's reserves 35–29.
The Tigers mounted a late push, outscoring the Fighting Squirrels 37–34 in the second half and stringing together a seven-point run. But Mary Baldwin's defense held firm, highlighted by junior
CJ Goode's three second-half steals.
