Box Score Freshman DJ Via led the Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels' charge as they traveled down to face the Brevard College Tornados in this USA South Athletic Contest. After a slow start, the Fighting Squirrels battled back and forth with the Tornadoes where they exchanged leads numerous times. Ultimately, Brevard pulled away in the last four minutes of the game and Mary Baldwin lost 81-72.

Mary Baldwin's Point distribution was fairly even as freshman DJ Via led the team with 12 points while Jaden Ignacio (11 points) and Zach Sloan (10 points) followed just behind him. Junior Raymond Benton led the team's rebound efforts with 8 right next to freshman Aimane Elbouazzaoui who held seven rebounds.

It was Jadon Carnes and KK Horton's day today for the Tornadoes as the together totaled 36 points and 13 rebound for their team. Carnes put up 19 points and six rebounds while Horton held 17 points and seven rebounds.

The results of this matchup allow for Brevard to slide up the rankings to be tied in third with North Carolina Wesleyan and Mary Baldwin for the USA South Athletic Conference. As we approach the final weeks of the season, the Fighting Squirrels host Virginia University of Lynchburg Tuesday (4/4) at 6:00 pm before traveling to William Peace University on Saturday (2/8) at 6:00 pm for another conference contest.
