Eric Leyton went to a tiebreaker in the second set and led a strong showing by the Men's Tennis team despite falling at Randolph-Macon by a 7-0 count.
Leyton and
Brandon Dewald had the best outing of MBU's three doubles teams, recording two game wins before falling 6-2. Leyton then gave R-M's Drew Crotts a battle at No. 1 singles before losing 6-3, 7-5.
Other singles battles finished with Dewald falling 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, Talen Brunson posting a 6-4, 6-2 setback at No 3 singles and Solomon Hines challenging at No. 5 singles before dropping a 6-2, 6-2 decision.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action Saturday, March 1, with a non-conference clash at Va. State. That's the team's first day on the way to their Spring Break trip, where the team will play three more matches and challenge USA South Methodist on March 6 in Fayetteville.
