Mary Baldwin University Athletics' Baseball team gives early lead to the Eastern Mennonite Royals. EMU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning in the game and held a rising lead throughout the contest. Despite a pair of home runs from the Fighting Squirrels offense, Mary Baldwin was unable to cover the point differential resulting in a 22-2 victory for the Eastern Mennonite University Royals.
The majority of Mary Baldwin's offensive production came from two home runs, one by two of our players. The starting catcher, #22
Michael Muller attempted to rally Mary Baldwin's efforts in the bottom of the second inning off of a first pitch homer deep to center field while newcomer #23
Jacob Barber tried a similar approach by homering in the 4th inning as well. Both efforts were not enough to keep up with the offensive value that Eastern Mennonite brought to Shifflet Field.Â
Mary Baldwin Baseball continues their season with traveling to to face Washington & Lee tomorrow, February 27th at 3:00 PM, before hosting Mount Aloysius College for a three game series this weekend with two games on Saturday (12:00 PM and 2:00 PM) and one game on Sunday (1:00 PM)
