The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels hosted the William Peace Pacers for their USA South conference baseball series. After jumping out to a 3 run lead thanks to a 5-2 first inning, the Fighting Squirrels continued their offense as they went out to a 9-2 lead in the first game. The Pacers didn't sit by idley and rallied back thanks to some opportune base running and retook the lead with 8 unanswered runs. Mary Baldwin came back to take the win as #28 Isiah led the Squirrels Higher on a walk-off double in the bottom of the 9th resulting in a 11-10 lead to Mary Baldwin. The second game started similar with Mary Baldwin jumping out ahead with an early lead by scoring 2 in the bottom of the 1st inning. William Peace retaliated by scoring 3 shortly after and maintained the lead through the rest of the second game. Despite some offensive outputs in the 5th and 8th, the Fighting Squirrels were unable to retake the lead in the second game and the Pacers won 8-4 resulting in a split game.

Will Earnesty. The Fighting Squirrels continued their streak and put on 2 more runs in the 2nd and 4th inning thanks to some heads-up base running tactics. The Pacers came back and scored 8 runs over the next 4 innings putting them at a 10-9 lead gong into the bottom of the 9th. Mary Baldwin wouldn't go quietly as they soon had two base runners which set the table up perfectly for #28

The Squirrels chipped away with runs in the fifth and eighth innings but couldn't close the gap. The Pacers' consistent offense and steady pitching secured an 8-4 win, resulting in a series split.

The Fighting Squirrels will aim to keep their bats hot as they host Roanoke College on Wednesday, March 26 at 4:00 PM for a non-conference matchup. They'll then face Methodist University in a pivotal USA South three-game series next weekend. The series kicks off with a Saturday doubleheader at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, followed by the finale on Sunday at 12:00 PM.
