Eric Leyton and Elian Jimenez both played two well in both singles and doubles matches, but fell short in both as the Mary Baldwin men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 USA South Athletic Conference decision at William Peace Saturday.
Leyton and Elian Jimenez lost the #1 doubles match by a 6-3 margin, then Leyton challenged Juliann Starland in the #1 singles bout, 6-1, 7-5. Jimenez, Leyton's doubles partner, played well at #2 singles before losing vs. Angel Araiza, 6-3, 6-2.
Both the MBU men's (2-6, 0-3 USA South) and women's (1-7, 0-3 USA South) tennis teams are back in action Tuesday (4/1) with a USA South battle at Southern Virginia (3 p.m.).
