Randolph College padded a 1-0 halftime lead with three goals in the first 22 minutes of the second half to secure a 4-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over visiting Mary Baldwin Wednesday.
The hosts scored the game-winner in the last 16 seconds of the first half to take the lead to the break. The WildCats then added three insurance goals in the second half to pull away for the victory.
The hosts outshot MBU by a 24-7 margin, including a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal. Senior
Tucker Speak went the distance in goal for the Fighting Squirrels (1-3-1), finishing with eight saves.
The Fighting Squirrels return to Saturday (9/13) in the second game of a doubleheader at SMA Worth Field. The MBU women open play at 1 p.m. against Eastern Mennonite, followed by the men's game between MBU and Guilford at approximately 3:30 p.m.
