Mary Baldwin men's soccer battled hard in its USA South opener Saturday at SMA Worth Field, but visiting Methodist prevailed for a 4–0 decision.

Preston Bentley turned in a strong shift in net, collecting six saves against the Monarchs. The Fighting Squirrels held the Monarchs scoreless for nearly 41 minutes before a late first-half strike broke through.
Alex Ramson, Carson Stretz, Steven Floyd, and Gerard Bradley scored for Methodist.
The Fighting Squirrels continue conference play on the road next week against William Peace Sunday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m.
