Via connected on two three-pointers, while Ukaegbu dominated the paint, scoring all eight of his first-half points inside. Ukaegbu finished the contest with a season-high 10 points.

Mary Baldwin capitalized on William Peace turnovers, converting 14 points off Pacers miscues, and carried a three-point lead into halftime.

Sophomore Rony Hogarth fueled the Fighting Squirrels in the second half, scoring 15 points after the break and finishing with a career-high 19 points. Hogarth scored the first seven points of the half for Mary Baldwin and knocked down one of his three three-pointers during the period.

Mary Baldwin trailed by four with 11 minutes remaining, but responded with a decisive 21–4 run to build a nine-point advantage with four minutes left. Via sealed the victory at the free-throw line, converting three free throws in the closing moments.
