Mary Baldwin women's basketball fell to Southern Virginia 90-33 on the road Tuesday night.
The Fighting Squirrels struggled offensively from the start, scoring just 11 points in the first half as the Knights built a 46-11 lead at the break. Southern Virginia shot 45% from the field (34 of 75), while Mary Baldwin finished at 25% (13 of 53).
The Knights capitalized on Mary Baldwin's 25 turnovers, turning them into a 14-2 advantage in points off turnovers. Southern Virginia also held a 36-14 edge in points in the paint and knocked down 13 3-pointers.
Four Knights scored in double figures, while Mary Baldwin had one player reach double digits. The Knights led for the final 39:52 and pushed their advantage to as many as 58 points in the second half.
Mary Baldwin will close out its season at home Saturday, Feb. 21, against Meredith. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m., as the Fighting Squirrels look to complete a season sweep of the Angels.
