As part of the USA South's Pennies for a Purpose campaign, Mary Baldwin Athletics has raised $312.25 for the Valley Mission.
Since returning from winter break, members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee have attended Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels home games, collecting loose change for the Valley Mission.
The Valley Mission, founded in 1971 in Staunton, supports individuals facing homelessness by providing food and shelter.
The conference initiative began in 2008 to support organizations making an impact in their communities. In the 18th year of Pennies for a Purpose, USA South schools raised $7,066.72.
This year, Mary Baldwin increased its donations by 22% compared with last year.
