Mary Baldwin softball split its final regular-season doubleheader against Southern Virginia, dropping Game one, 4-1, before rebounding for an 8-5 win in Game two.
Game 1
The Fighting Squirrels and Knights were scoreless through two innings before Berkley Whitten broke the tie in the third with a three-run home run to left field.
Southern Virginia added to its lead when Sophia Badell hit a solo home run to center field.

Game 2

The Knights tied the game in the top of the third inning, but the lead was short-lived. In the bottom half, freshman
Skylar Meriwether delivered a two-run RBI single to center field to give the Fighting Squirrels a 5-2 advantage.
Trailing 6-2 in the fifth, Southern Virginia mounted a late push, scoring three runs to cut the deficit to one.

Breanna Donnell hit an RBI single, and Morris added back-to-back RBI singles to secure the win.

The Fighting Squirrels finish the season 9-28-1 overall and 4-14 in conference play. Mary Baldwin will look to build on its young core heading into next season.
