Mary Baldwin volleyball fell to Eastern Mennonite 3-1 Saturday night, losing 25-18, 25-17, 23-25 and 25-23 to close out the tournament weekend.
The Royals' offense was flying, recording 28 kills through the first two sets. Logan Turchetta led all players with 11 kills, while Linday Bly and Emma Rogers each recorded 10 for Eastern Mennonite.
Down 2-0, the Fighting Squirrels stayed motivated and took the third set 25-23. Eastern Mennonite recorded 11 errors in the third set compared with six for Mary Baldwin, along with five kills.
Senior Gabrielle Culanding led MBU with seven kills in the match. Freshman Victoria Harrison delivered four aces.
The Fighting Squirrels will return home to face the Christendom Crusaders Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 6:30 p.m.
