Mary Baldwin women's soccer sophomore
Molly Ludwig received the USA South Women's Soccer, Player of the Week award Monday.
Ludwig helped the Fighting Squirrels go 2-0 last week, scoring four goals over two games. The Winchester native assisted on the first goal against Wilson before adding an insurance goal shortly after.
Then Saturday, Ludwig scored three times to complete a hat trick in a 10-0 win over Averett.
Ludwig is coming off a season in which she led all freshmen in the USA South with 11 goals and earned second-team All-Conference honors.
New head coach Lionel Karyea expressed how impressed he has been with Ludwig's play.
"She's been doing really well. I saw a lot from her before getting here. I'm not surprised she got one. Coming off one game with a goal and an assist, then getting a hat trick, it's pretty unbelievable."
This is Ludwig's first conference weekly award of the year and the first of her career.
