Mary Baldwin men's soccer made its home debut on Labor Day against Bob Jones University, falling to the Bruins, 4-0.
The Fighting Squirrels offense struggled to find its footing, managing just seven shots on goal. Sophomore
Isiah Morris led Mary Baldwin with three shots.
The Bruins opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Jackson Reinhard found the back of the net. Dylan Powesk and Reid Burgin added goals in the 27th and 43rd minutes, respectively, giving Bob Jones a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
Noah Burkett added the Bruins' fourth goal in the 57th minute of the second half.
Bob Jones controlled possession throughout the match, holding a 63 percent to 37 percent advantage. The Bruins also used that advantage to earn nine corner kicks, compared with four for Mary Baldwin.
Mary Baldwin returns home Wednesday, Sept. 9, to take on Randolph College. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
