Wasps Sting the Fighting Squirrels

STAUNTON, VA - Emory and Henry defeated Mary Baldwin College 3-0 in volleyball this afternoon (25-9, 25-15, 25-15). 

The Wasps pulled away in the first set when Nicole Tesh served four aces in a row to give Emory and Henry a 6-3 lead.  The visitors continued to build on that lead as they took the first set 25-9.

In the second and third sets, Emory and Henry cleared the bench giving all 19 players time on the floor.  Tristen Pennington lead the Wasps with 8 kills.  Setter Maleah Neely added 15 assists while libero Kelly Mae Kerlin had 7 digs.

Mary Baldwin College was lead by Katelyn Rice who had 9 kills this afternoon.  Sara Valdivieso added 15 assists while the defense was shared by Sara Valdivieso, Katelyn Rice, Anahi Trujillo-Camorlinga, and Jessica Hickman who all finished with 5 digs each.

Mary Baldwin College (0-19, 0-9 USAS) travel to William Peace Tuesday.  The match starts at 7:00 PM.
