STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College tennis team dropped two conference matches this weekend.
On Friday, NC Wesleyan College defeated the Fighting Squirrels 7-2 improving their record to 3-8 (3-4 USAS).
The Battling Bishops took two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches. In singles, #1 Samia Kecher defeated Katy Kelly 6--0, 6-0. #2 Bristy Parker won over McKayla Burnett 6-0, 6-2. Ty Riley gave up only one game when she defeated Najah-Jenea Edgar 6-1, 6-0. #4 Dori Brooks topped Sara Valdivieso 6-2, 6-1 while #5 Paige Brooks won 6-1, 6-1 over Miangel Hite.
Mary Baldwin took the #3 doubles match and the #6 singles match by default.
On Saturday, Christoper Newport University gave up just one game in the entire match on their way to a 9-0 victory. After winning all three doubles matches 8-0, the Captains swept all six singles matches as well.
