DANVILLE, VA - Averett University defeated Mary Baldwin College 3-0 this evening in a USA South Athletic Conference women's volleyball matchup to remain undefeated in conference play.

The Cougars dominated the first set leading the entire game and taking the 25-14 win.  The second set was marked by numerous lead changes before the teams found themselves tied at 17. Five errors by Mary Baldwin and two service aces by Averett's Shayna Keen gave the home team the 25-17 second set win.

In the final set, Mary Baldwin found themselves in the lead throughout most of the game.  The Cougars came back and finally tied the game at 19 after being down by as much as 5 points.  Then, with MBC in the lead 23-22, Averett took the final three points to sweep the Fighting Squirrels 3-0.

Katelyn Rice lead MBC with 13 kills.  Reilly Kelly finished with 10 assists while Anahi Trujillo-Camorlinga added 13 digs.

Mary Baldwin College (0-12, 0-4 USAS) plays its next two matches this Saturday at Meredith College taking on Methodist University at noon and Meredith College at 4:00pm in their second USA South quad match.
