DANVILLE, VA - Averett University defeated Mary Baldwin College 3-0 this evening in women's volleyball and gave their Head Coach Danny Miller his 500th win.

In the first set, Mary Baldwin trailed the Cougars 7-8 when the home team pulled away outscoring Mary Baldwin 17-6 to take a 25-13 win.  The Cougars made the most of their opportunities finishing the set with 10 kills and just 2 attack errors. 

The Fighting Squirrels faired better in the second set and found themselved tied 14-14.  Averett then executed flawlessly finishing the set with 6 kills and 2 service aces to take the second set 25-15.

Errors plagued Mary Baldwin in the third set as they watched Averett build their lead throughout taking advantage of the visitors' mistakes.  Averett won the set 25-12 giving their coach a 3-0 win as he reached this milestone in his career.

Jessica Hickman led Mary Baldwin with 6 kills.  She was followed closely by Kately Rice and Farrah Fullerton with 5 and 4 respectively.  Sara Valdivieso tallied 8 assists.  The defense was led by Reilly Kelly who added 8 digs.

Mary Baldwin College 0-25 (0-14 USA South) travel to Greensboro this weekend for a USA South quad match before returning home next Thursday for their final home match of the season.
