DANVILLE, VA - Averett University improved their record to 9-7 (2-0 USAS) this evening when they defeated Mary Baldwin College 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13) in women's volleyball.

Averett University finished with 38 kills (.202 K%) and 17 service aces.  The Cougars also tallied 35 assists.

Averett University was led by Hannah Shields who finished with 12 kills (.308 K%).  Cristiana Summa added 5 service aces.

Mary Baldwin's balanced scoring attack was led by Katelyn Rice who finished with 7 kills.  She was followed closely by Farrah Fullerton who added 6 kills and Jessica Hickman who added 5 kills.  Jacklyn Lamoy and Sarah Crumbly both tallied 4 kills each.  Reilly Kelly added 24 assists while Rice also led the defense with 12 digs.

Mary Baldwin College 2-13 (0-4 USAS) return to action Thursday evening at home against Roanoke College.  Play begins at 7:00 PM.
