STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College tennis team honored seniors Miangel Hite, Jeni-Lee MacLaughlin, and Bria Shelton this afternoon before their tennis match against Meredith.
Miangel Hite is a four year senior. Hite, who is from Portsmouth, VA, currently plays #3 doubles and #4 singles for the Fighting Squirrels. Jeni-Lee MacLaughlin has played three years in the tennis program. She teams with Hite at the #3 doubles spot and plays #6 singles. MacLaughlin is from Key West, FL. Bria Shelton is Mary Baldwin's third senior tennis player. Shelton returned to the tennis program this season after not playing her sophomore and junior seasons. Shelton is from Newport News, VA.
Head Coach Paul Yee said, "It has been great to watch our seniors grow as athletes and improve during their time with us. We wish them the best after graduation!"
Meredith College spoiled Senior Day for the Fighting Squirrels winning the match 9-0.
Mary Baldwin College travels to Averett tomorrow as they look to earn a berth in the USA South tournament that begins on April 15 at Rocky Mount, NC.
