Rocky Mount, NC - The Mary Baldwin Universtiy tennis team opened their USA South Conference play on the road today against North Carolina Wesleyan College.  The Battling Bishops are ranked #2 in the East Division in the preseason poll.

N.C. Wesleyan defeated Mary Baldwin 9-0.

Alayah Austin again filled the #1 spot for Mary Baldwin while Saku Ishii followed at the #2 spot.  The remainder of the ladder were all seeing their first USA South Conference match.

Afterwards, Head Coach Paul Yee said, "N.C. Wesleyan is a strong team and I thought we showed improvement in our consistency for all the matches."

Mary Baldwin University, 0-5 (0-1 USAS), face Meredith at home on Saturday.
