GREENSBORO, NC - The Mary Baldwin University tennis team got their first win of the season against Greensboro College this afternoon in their final match of the season.

Mary Baldwin defeated Greensboro 6-3.

The Fighting Squirrels took a 3-0 lead after doubles play.  Alayah Austin and Saku Ishii won at the top spot, Azaria Marlowe and Esperanza Cadena at the second spot and Shaina Riddle and Jacqueline Cottingham in the 3rd doubles match.

In singles play, Alayah Austin pulled off a win in a close match in #1 singles.  After splitting sets, Austin won the tie breaker 10-5.  Saku Ishii also won in the #2 match.  

Greensboro's points came from the #3, #4, and #5 singles matches.

Jacqueline Cottingham gave Mary Baldwin one more point easily winning in the #6 match 6-1, 6-4.

Mary Baldwin University finishes the season 1-11 (1-6 USA South).
