CARY, N.C. - William Peace jumped out to a 2-0 lead Saturday evening and the Pacers went on to defeat Mary Baldwin 3-1 in USA South Athletic Conference men's soccer action.

Ivan Ponce put the home team on the board in the 11th minute and a goal by Jorge Lemus with just 27 seconds left in the first half made the score 2-0.

The Fighting Squirrels made it a one score contest when Stephen Blair scored in the 57th minute to pull MBU to within 2-1.

The Pacers put the game away when Lemus scored his second goal with less than four minutes left on the clock, giving the Pacers a 3-1 lead.

Mary Baldwin 4-9-1 overall and 1-4 in the conference, returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Squirrels host Greensboro College.
