The Mary Baldwin men's soccer team opened conference play Saturday afternoon with an impressive win over Pfeiffer, 4-0.

MBU jumped out quickly, scoring just 1:20 into the game. Robert Hailes crossed a ball into the box and Rhajee Scarlett volleyed a shot inside the near post for 1-0 lead.

The score remained 1-0 until the 65th minute when the Squirrels scored twice in less than two minutes. Kyle Creamer scored off an assist from Scarlett to make the score 2-0. The Squirrels scored their next goal off a free kick. Scarlett sent a ball to the far post where Creamer headed the ball back to the front of the goal. Eddy Casco headed a shot into the back of the net for a 3-0 cushion.

Mary Baldwin added its final goal in the 71st minute when Dominic Fleming took a corner kick for the Eagles and deposited a shot just inside the near post, making the score 4-0.

Obdulio Argueta and Justin Almond combined for the shutout. Argueta recorded five saves and Almond added one.

Mary Baldwin is now 4-5-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
