Box Score Greensboro College scored two early goals Wednesday afternoon and the Pride went on to defeat Mary Baldwin, 3-1, in a USA South Athletic Conference men's soccer contest.
The Pride took the lead in the fifth minute when Merced Mendez Flores scored off an assist from Jordy Briceno for a 1-0 Greensboro lead. Less than two minutes later, William Curry scored, putting the Pride ahead 2-0.
MBU got back in the game in the 19th minue when Dominic Fleming took a shot from 25 yards out. The shot went over the keeper, hit the bottom of the crossbar and feill beyond the line, pulling the Squirrels to within 2-1.
The scored stayed that way until early in the second half when Curry scored his second goal of the game for a 3-1 Greensboro lead.
Mary Badlwin held a 14-10 edge in total shots, but the Squirrels put just three of those shots on goal.
MBU, now 4-10-1 overall and 1-6 in the conference, will close out the regular season on Saturday when Methodist visits SMA Worth Field.
