Box Score Mary Baldwin closed out its men's soccer season Saturday with a come-from-behind 2-1 home victory over Methodist.
Methodist took the lead with a goal in the 17th minute and held the 1-0 advantage at the half.
Mary Baldwin tied the score in the 56th minute when defender Pedro De Oliveira pushed forward and slotted a pass ahead to Alexis Barba who finished with the goal to tie the score.
The Squirrels scored the winning goal in 76th minute. MBU goalkeeper Obdulio Argueta booted a long goal kick deep into the Squirrels offensive end. Carson Brooks muscled past the final defender for possession of the ball and then beat the Methodist keeper one-on-one, giving the Squirrels a 2-1 lead. The assist was the second this season for Argueta.
Total shots were even at 13 apiece while the Monarchs held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Argueta finished the contest with six saves for the Eagles.
Mary Baldwin finishes its season with a 5-10-1 oveall reocrd and a 2-5 mark in the conference.
