BUENA VISTA, Va. - Southern Virginia scored a goal in the 51st minute Tuesday and the Knights held on the rest of the way for a 1-0 victory over Mary Baldwin in USA South Athletic Conference action.

Southern Virginia held a 10-5 edge in total shots while the Squirrels finished with a 5-0 advantage in corner kick opportunities. 

After Amon Lewis put the Knights on the scoreboard, Mary Balldwin had three corner opportunities plus a shot on goal by Jared Curling, but the Squirrels were unable to score the equalizer.

MBU goalie Obdulio Argueta allowed just the one goal while recording four saves.

Mary Baldwin, 4-6-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference, returns to action Saturday when the team travels to play N.C. Wesleyan.
