Box Score ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Mary Baldwin men's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 conference decision Saturday afternoon in a defensive struggle at North Carolina Wesleyan.
There were just two shots on goal the enitre first half, both by the Fighting Squirrels. Rhajee Scarlett and Thomas Tchoumbou each put a shot on goal for MBU.
The Battling Bishops scored the game's lone goal just five minutes into the second half when Juan Simoniello put the home team on the scoreboard.
N.C. Wesleyan held a 15-7 edge in total shots and a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Bishops put four shots on goal, compared to two for MBU.
MBU keeper Obdulio Argueta finished the contest with three saves.
Mary Baldwin (4-7-1, 1-2 in the conference) returns to action Wednesday afternoon when the Averett Cougars visit Staunton.
