Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - No. 17 ranked Johns Hopkins took the lead in the 14th minute Sunday afternoon and that was enough for a 1-0 victory over Mary Baldwin.
Liam Creedon put Hopkins ahead with the early goal and the Blue Jays' defense did the rest. MBU had trouble penetrating the strong defense put forth by Hopkins as the Fighting Squirrels were held to just three shots in the contest. Rhajee Scarlett had MBU's lone shot on goal. Creedon's score was the only shot on goal by either team in the first half.
MBU keeper Obdulio Argueta turned in another strong effort in goal, finishing the contest with eight saves.
The Squirrels, now 0-2, will look to pick up their first win when they host Bridgewater College on Wednesday.
