The Mary Baldwin women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision Saturday to Roanoke College.
Roanoke led 2-1 after doubles play. Mary Baldwin picked up its point at No. 3 doubles where Kelly Bantel and Gretchen Lutz edged Roanoke's Sophie Bartholomaus and Dana Meyer 9-8, winning the tiebreaker 7-3.
The Maroons clinched the team victory, winning five of the six single smatches. Mary Baldwin picked up its singles win at No. 6 as Bantel defeated Meyer 7-6, 6-1.
Mary Baldwin returns to the courts Sunday afternoon when the Squirrels host Randolph-Macon.
