Alexis Edmonds registered seven of the team's 13 kills and added a solo block and a block assist, totaling 8.5 of MBU's 18 points, in a 3-0 USA South volleyball match at Southern Virginia Tuesday.
The Fighting Squirrels lost in straight sets - 25-11, 25-13, 25-17 - to fall to 2-20 overall this year, 0-12 in conference play.
Freshman Brooklyn Prince also collected 3.5 points for the Fighting Squirrels on three kills and one block assist. Prince posted MBU's best hitting percentage in the match (.100).
Southern Virginia, led by Sydney Bassett's 11 kills and a .450 hitting percentage, improved to 10-14 overall, 7-5 in USA South Conference action.
MBU returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. conference clash at Pfeiffer.
