Logan Barbour were Mary Baldwin's top three scorers, combining for 33 points, in the Fighting Squirrels 100-53 loss in an exhibition game vs. NCAA Division I Hampton Monday.
Sloan knocked down 6-of-14 field goal attempts on the way to a team-high 13 points, followed by Reid with 11 points and Barbour with nine. Sloan also paced the Fighting Squirrels with three assists and shared team-high rebounding honors with senior guard
Quentin Hart, each with four.
The host Pirates (4-5) were led by freshman 6-9 forward Jerry Deng with 37 points. Deng hit 15-of-19 field goal attempts, including 4-for 6 from long range, and 3-for-3 from the free throw line. Teammates Tedrick Wilcox Jr. (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Kyrese Mullen (14 points, 10 rebounds) both finished with double doubles.
The Fighting Squirrels return to their Division III schedule Wednesday at the PAC with a non-conference showdown against Ferrum (6 p.m.).
