Women's Tennis Falls To Yellow Jackets

ASHLAND, Va. - The Mary Baldwin women's tennis team lost 8-1 Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match at Randolph-Macon.

Liz Wine picked up the lone victory for MBU, taking a tough three-set win over Randolph-Macon's Mary Blair Seward at No. 6 singles. Wine won the opening set 7-5 before dropping the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6. In the third set tiebreaker to decide the match, Wine controlled play 10-2.

MBU's Hannah Eastridge turned in a strong effort at No. 3 singles losing 7-5, 7-6 to Macon's Katie Sarnowski.

Gretchen Lutz played a solid match at No. 2 singles, losing 6-3, 6-4 to Macon's Grace Holderman.
