Freshman goalie Preston Bentley made 13 saves in a strong performance against NCAA Division I VMI, but the Mary Baldwin men's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to the Keydets at SMA Worth Field in a steady mist Tuesday.  MBU fell to 0-9 for the year heading into their first USA South conference match Saturday at home vs. Methodist (1 p.m.).

VMI opened the scoring in the fifth minute and extended the lead to 3-0 before MBU's Phinnie Kamara converted a penalty kick to get the Fighting Squirrels on the scoreboard.  It was Kamara's team-leading second goal of the season.

VMI's Kyle Grant scored his second goal of the game just before halftime, and the visitors added a fifth goal in the second half.

Bentley was credited with six saves in the first 45 minutes and seven in the second half on 25 total VMI attempts.  MBU's totaled six attempts at the VMI goal.
