Guilford scored a pair of second-half goals in a 17-minute span of the second half to defeat the Mary Baldwin women's soccer team in a non-conference match at SMA Worth Field Sunday.
After the teams battled to a scoreless first half on a hot afternoon in Staunton, Mya Rivera found the back of the net twice for the Quakers in the second half. Guilford's 10 second-half shots gave the visitors an 18-12 shooting advantage in the contest.
MBU's Maddie Vinson rejected three of the five Guilford shots on goal.
The Squirrels will go for their first win of the season Wednesday at home against Eastern Mennonite. MBU women's soccer will celebrate Kid's Day at SMA Worth Field, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m.
