A'Cetta Farrait posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome a William Peace push in the middle two quarters as the host Pacers handed the Fighting Squirrels a 70-60 loss Saturday in Raleigh, N.C.
WPU's Tanaesha Ellison exploded for 33 points and 24 rebounds to lead the hosts, who outscored MBU by 10 points - the margin of victory - in the middle two frames.
The teams battled to a 23-21 William Peace through the first 10 minutes, but then MBU scored just eight points in the second quarter and was outscored 20-14 in the third quarter to fall behind by 12 entering the final quarter. MBU cut the lead to seven on several occasions in the final minutes, but WPU held on for the win.

The Fighting Squirrels are scheduled for three home games in the next seven days, starting Tuesday (1/9) against Southern Virginia (6 p.m.), followed by a Friday (1/12)Â matchup with Pfeiffer (5 p.m.) and a game Saturday (1/13) afternoon against Brevard (4:30 p.m.).
