NCAA Division I Virginia Military Institute (VMI) scored only three goals in the first 60 minutes, but then pulled away with seven goals in the last 30 minutes to secure a 10-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over Mary Baldwin Wednesday in Lexington, Va.
The hosts (5-6-2) fired a total of 41 shots against three MBU goalies (18 on goal). The Fighting Squirrels (2-8-2) showed positive signs down the stretch, recording seven of their eight shots (four on goal) in the second half.
Mary Baldwin returns to action Saturday (10/19) at USA South Conference rival Pfeiffer, beginning at 2 p.m.
