Noah Kessler,
Josh Lallo and
Tucker Hensley all had multi-hit games, but Bridgewater was able to break open a 4-3 lead with five runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and three more in the eighth to secure a 14-5 non-conference baseball win Wednesday.
Bridgewater (12-6) combined two hits and two errors in the bottom of the first to break loose for an early 3-0 lead.
Lallo blasted a homer in the third inning with Kessler aboard to help close MBU's deficit to 4-3. Kessler than had two late-inning RBI singles as the Fighting Squirrels continually tried to challenge the host Eagles.
The hosts then combined five hits, a walk and two hit batsmen to put five runs on the board in the fourth. They added two runs on three hits in the fifth for a 11-3 advantage.
MBU opens USA South Conference play over the weekend at Shifflett Field against Greensboro College, with Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game both starting at 1 p.m.
