Mary Baldwin senior
Hannah Eastridge went the distance in both singles and doubles matches Saturday but came up short of taking a point away from Meredith in the team score as the host Avenging Angels topped the Fighting Squirrels in a USA South women's tennis match, 9-0.
Eastridge started the match with doubles partner
Kelsey Bantel, pushing Meredith's top doubles tandem before falling 8-6. In singles, Eastridge was strong again in a 6-3, 6-4 setback to Ellie Osbourne in #1 singles. Bantel also took three games in the #2 singles battle with Claire Southern before falling 6-1, 6-2.
The women's tennis team now has off for final exams before finishing the regular season with three matches next weekend - Friday (4/19) at Salem, Saturday (4/20) at home against Methodist and Sunday (4/21) at Trinity University in D.C.
