Mary Baldwin University's baseball team lost both games in today's double-header as they hosted Brevard College with the scores being 14-4 for the first game and 14-2 for the second game.
Mary Baldwin stayed consistent in the game as no run was scored in the first 3 innings of the first match-up, but fell and stayed behind once Brevard scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning. Freshman, #25
Carter Attard was a standout for the Fighting Squirrels as he recorded 2 of MBU's 7 hits of the game. Although things were close at first, Brevard pulled away in the 5th inning resulting in a 14-4 win for the Tornadoes.
Carter Attard stayed hot in the second as he had 4 hits, a double, and 2 RBIs in just 5 at bats. #23
Blake French also had a good approach at the plate as he collected 2 hits and a run scored in 4 at bats. Ultimately, the Fighting Squirrels were unable to produce any output from their 10 hits as they fell 14-2.
The Fighting Squirrels will play their last game of the season against Brevard College tomorrow, 4/28 at 12:00 pm.
